Historisches Archiv zum Tourismus (HAT)1988 wurde das "Historische Archiv zum Tourismus" (HAT)
an der Freien Universität Berlin gegründet. Zehn Jahre später
konnte es dank großzügiger Förderung durch die Volkswagen-Stiftung wissenschaftlich
erschlossen werden. Durch laufende Ankäufe und Spenden (ITS, DER, ABR, ADAC, DRV, Baedeker usw.) wuchs der Bestand auf 400 Meter Regalfläche: Rund 11.000 Bücher und Plakate, 2000 Zeitschriftenbände und 50.000 Prospekte können von Interessenten eingesehen werden. Träger ist das Willy Scharnow-Institut für
Tourismus der FU Berlin, Ansprechpartner Dr. Hasso Spode.

ICTTH (International Commission for the History of Travel and Tourism)The ICHTT was founded in 2001 as an internal commission of the International Committee of Historical Sciences (ICHS). The seat of the Commission is at the Università della Svizzera Italiana, Lugano. The Commission organizes dedicated sessions at the world conferences of the ICHS as well as regular conferences. The Commission represents all scholars interested in the history of travel and tourism, promotes research in these rich and rapidly-expanding fields of interest, and is working on creating an effective network and profitable exchange of information, ideas and research projects between historians of different countries.

T2M AssociationThe International Association for the History of Transport, Traffic and Mobility, abbreviated to T2M, was founded on Saturday 8 November 2003, by the participants of the First International Conference on the History of Transport, Traffic and Mobility, held in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, from 6 – 9 November. During that special plenary session nearly all present voted in favor of a motion and subsequently registered as founding members of the new association.
